Hi, I’m Matiss Gaigals, a Software Engineer with over 6 years of experience building scalable web applications, primarily working with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Sidekiq and modern web technologies. I specialize in building scalable backend systems, full-stack applications, and tools that solve real-world business problems. I have over a decade of experience in business development and strategic planning. This rare combination allows me to deeply understand product goals, customer needs, and monetisation models while delivering a robust and maintainable technical solution.
Previously, I built and led the advertising business at Helio Media (part of the Tet Group), negotiated media deals with global partners such as Fox, Viacom and Discovery, and oversaw the rollouts of tech platforms. Today, I use that same business-first mindset in engineering roles—thinking about growth, user experience, and the bottom line as I write code.
In June 2025 I’ve completed my Master Degree of Engineering Science in Business Informatics. More on my master’s thesis practical experiment here.
